A Thought???
I like my writing, sometimes I look back and think it's tacky. But does tacky define the way I feel at certain times? Not really.

I hope the question wasn't rhetorical...
I'd exchange "tacky" for "eclectic." And then I'd say you should be eclectic all the time.
Nothing wrong with being your own worst critic. It will push you to be better...
